EN: In White
I’m really going to try to post here more often – promise! I’m in Bleary once again after having spent the holidays at home in Holland. I flew to Amsterdam on the 19th of December and was very lucky as a bunch of flights were cancelled that day because of snow, and in the weekend they also didn’t go to Amsterdam so I was quite glad I flew on friday – although sleeping at the airport would have been fun =D. It was nice to see my family again (and Diesel of course).
Sunday (Jan 03) was my flight back to Belfast. But when I arrived at Schiphol it said the flight was cancelled. There was snow in Amsterdam but other flights were still going so it was odd. Then we were told the reason why it was cancelled: one of the crew members was ill. How strange of a reason is that?! I called my boss and it was okay if I took the next flight to Belfast on tuesday. I went by train to the airport this time and of course that didn’t go as planned either – then again, I should probably be happy they drove at all. I had to switch trains, but when everybody was in the second train it would start anymore. We sat there for a while till we were told we might as well take another train, so we all did. The rest of the train trip went perfect though and I arrived at Schiphol a bit before check-in opened. I was a bit nervous as I don’t like flying but it went good =). We were all a bit nervous as lots of flights to the UK were cancelled (sorry cute guy in front of me! – we talked for a bit and he really wanted to go home, but his flight did get cancelled at the last minute), but the plane to Belfast did go (phew! 2 cancelled flights wouldn’t have made me very happy).
We arrived Northern Ireland and went down to land – we were going down for a bit already when suddenly the pilot pulled up the plane (great way to freak me out by the way). Turned out there was just falling snow so we had to wait – about 20 minutes later we landed perfectly. After landing all these people started clapping – I was like OMG.. maybe did almost hit ground while landing x_x.
The journey wasn’t over yet! Cara wasn’t able to pick me up because wee Cala was in the hospital. I was going to get a cab so walked to the place where they usually are on the side of the airport. No taxi’s there – except one but 2 people were already getting in there. Bleary is not walkable from Belfast =p, so I went up to the cab driver and asked if more cabs were coming. He said he didn’t know – the roads were bad (his words, not mine – the roads in Holland were much worse) and a lot of cabs went home because most flights were cancelled. He agreed to take me with him, we just had to go drop off the other people first. I was so glad I didn’t wait inside the airport a second longer – then he would be gone and I would have had to wait ages for the next cab. Felt bad though as there was a guy waiting for a cab as well. The way to Bleary took quite a while as the road was snowy. But I got here obviously, so yay for that =D.
So that was my trip. Ohw, I made some pictures when I was home but I haven’t uploaded them yet. I have however added pictures to the site of: Hughie (puppy likes snow), Belfast, Bushmills, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-Rede and the Giant’s Causeway.
As I said Cala is in the hospital. She went there on monday with a really bad chest infection. Cara just came home to sleep for an hour as she spent all night at the hospital and she said that hopefully Cala can come home tomorrow or friday. I hope she’ll be better real soon <3.
Because of that Dia was at her nan’s house yesterday so I didn’t have to drive her to school today – which I didn’t mind because those little country roads are probably not fun to drive on right now. Will probably have to do it tomorrow though and the weather will stay cold so the roads won’t get better.
It’s snowing again! so pretty.
and of course: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
