EN: Rainy Days
Well, I really did it. On October 29th I moved from Holland to a completely unknown country to me; Northern Ireland. I live in a tiny place called Bleary and omg it rains a lot.I left home to go to the airport at 3am – the plane left at 6.50am and I arrived 7.25am local time. I hate flying but it was okay, at least I didn’t get sick. At the airport in Belgium (I flew from Charleroi) they checked every piece in my carry on luggage and they checked me as well. I felt a bit like a criminal. After all that I had to rush to the gate and when I arrived there, I didn’t see any passengers anymore. I quickly gave them my tickets and went through the gate. I only saw a dark concrete stairs and went down then. After several stairs I was all the way down and then had to walk to the plane and had to get on the plain by climbing up a small stairs. In Dublin it was even more interesting as we had to get out of the plane by using those tiny stairs but now it was windy and rainy so it was quite easy to slip off them. Cara (the mum) and Dia (4) picked me up in Dublin and they were really nice =). Once in Bleary I met little Cala and the current au-pair Chrissie. Cara went back to work in Belfast and I spent the day with Chrissie, Dia and Cala (1). I met Shane (the dad) in the afternoon and he is really nice although I find it hard to understand him at times as his Irish accent is quite thick. It was a busy day so I went to bed rather early. Friday wasn’t boring either. This is my fourth day and so far I’ve been to the mall nearby (Dunnes is just the greatest store ever!), an outlet mall, Jumping Jack’s (indoor playground), Lurgan, Portadown, a place I forgot the name of that starts with a B and yesterday I went to Belfast.
Cara drove me to the trainstation in Lurgan and I took the train to Belfast. It stopped so often! I didn’t fall asleep, else I would have ended up in Bangor. I think that place is near the sea so I might have to go there one day. Preferably when it’s dry =p. Cara and Chrissie told me to go to Primark in Belfast and after a while of searching, I finally found it! I just did some shopping in Belfast so I didn’t see much of the city yet. I was quite lucky as it was dry when I arrived, but after a few hours it of course started to pour again. Belfast seemed like a really nice city and I can’t wait to go back there to see more of it. Also; there were so many street musicians. They all seemed to be playing Snow Patrol songs haha. Some were really good actually.
Ohw, there are also 3 dogs here – all chocolate labs. The old man is Storm, who is the dad of 6 year old Rocco and the latest addition (he got here last week) is little puppy Hughie. They are all really sweet and love to cuddle and play.
Monday is my first real day of work and I’m a bit nervous about it. Dia seems to like me (she said so) but I have been warned that she will test me big time to see what she can get away with. Cala isn’t to fond of me yet; every time she’s alone with me she starts to cry. I hope she’ll get comfortable with me before Chrissie leaves to go back to Canada.
Well.. I think that’s about it. NaNoWriMo started today and I wasn’t going to participate in it because I don’t have a computer of my own yet, but I might give it a go anyway. Good luck to everyone else who is participating!
I haven’t driven here yet, but I’ll have to learn soon and omg I’m so scared of it! People say it’s not so bad to drive at the left side of the road but the roads here are tiny and confusing and there are about a million huge roundabouts. Wish me luck!
Bye my lovelies!

That is a big move, and well done for being so brave to do it! I’m glad you seem to be enjoying it so far. I’ve only been to Ireland once (Cobh and Dublin) but it is very beautiful. I know what you mean about Dunnes
They don’t have them in Southern England but they do in Scotland, and I picked up two gorgeous hoodies there earlier this month. We’ll be moving to Scotland next year so I’m looking forward to being near Dunnes, plus Glasgow’s bookstores are huge!
Wow cool story
